Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional coverage that limits the renter's financial liability in the event of vehicle damage or theft.

When CDW is purchased or included in the rental rate, the renter’s deductible is capped at 500,000 KRW per incident of damage or theft, with a maximum coverage limit of 10,000,000 KRW. This deductible applies regardless of the total repair cost or value of the loss.

If CDW is not purchased or is declined, the renter may be held liable for the full cost of repairs or, in the case of theft, the total value of the vehicle.

Please note that CDW is not insurance and may not cover additional costs such as towing, storage fees, or depreciation of vehicle value. Renters are advised to review their personal insurance policies to ensure adequate protection.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is an optional coverage that offers protection for the renter and passengers in the event of an accident. It provides coverage for medical expenses, with a maximum limit of 15,000,000 KRW per passenger, including the driver, up to the maximum number of passengers permitted in the vehicle. In the case of accidental death, a benefit of 100,000,000 KRW is provided.

Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional 24-hour emergency service designed to provide assistance in the event of lockouts (when keys are locked inside the vehicle), jumpstarts for dead batteries, fuel delivery, and flat tire support. In cases where a spare tire is unavailable or not inflated, the vehicle will be towed. Please note, however, that the cost of a replacement tire is not covered under RAP.

While RAP offers added convenience, it is not an insurance policy. Renters are encouraged to review their personal insurance coverage to ensure it adequately addresses such circumstances. If RAP is declined, any related charges will be the responsibility of the renter, who may seek reimbursement from their personal insurer.

All drivers must present a fully valid driving license. Electronic or digital driving licenses are not accepted. All drivers must have held their license for at least 1 year. In addition, all foreign renters must present a valid passport. Local renters may present a passport or another government-issued photo ID. A valid credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle. Renters are required to present either a valid Korean driver's license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by a country that is a signatory to the Vienna or Geneva conventions at the time of vehicle pickup. Failure to provide a valid IDP will result in the denial of the rental. Only the A6-sized paper booklet format of the IDP is acceptable; plastic or digital versions will not be considered valid. IDPs issued by the International Drivers Association are not recognized in Korea. Renters are advised to ensure that their IDP complies with the Geneva or Vienna conventions.

The IDP must be valid for the entire duration of the rental period, and only IDPs with clearly indicated validity dates will be accepted. To operate vehicles with a capacity of up to nine seats, the IDP must be classified as "Grade B." Renters must also possess a valid local driver's license that has been held for a minimum of one year.

Please note that EU International Driver's Licenses are not recognized in Korea. Holders of EU licenses are required to obtain an IDP to drive within the country. International driving licenses issued by Brazil or Saudi Arabia are also not accepted, as these countries have yet to ratify the 1968 Geneva Convention.

Furthermore, renters must provide a valid passport and use their personal credit card for payment at the time of vehicle pickup. Cash and debit card payments are not accepted. Customers can drive in the country of rental using their IDP for up to 1 year. Renters who do not reside in the country of rental must provide accommodation information.

Third-Party Liability (TPL) Insurance is mandatory coverage included in all rental agreements. It provides protection against legal liabilities resulting from accidents involving third parties. TPL offers unlimited coverage for bodily injury, death, and property damage to third parties. For vehicle damage, TPL covers up to 100,000,000 KRW, with any costs exceeding this limit being the responsibility of the renter.

This coverage meets or exceeds the minimum legal requirements for third-party liability insurance, ensuring that renters are protected against potential legal and financial liabilities related to third-party claims.

For Non-Korean driver's license holders, an IDP with a valid passport is required. The IDP must comply with the 1949 Geneva Convention (Sept 19, 1949) or the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. For more details, please refer to our rental policies.
