Will I be authorized to travel to countries bordering France?
Vehicles can be driven in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. An additional fee of EUR 55.00, payable at the rental counter, will apply in the event of cross-border travel. Vehicles must be returned to mainland France.
In all cases, customers are obliged to inform the rental office of their intention to leave the territory with the vehicle in order to receive authorization. Any movement of the vehicle outside of the previously authorized countries will constitute a violation of the rental terms and conditions. Civil liability will be incurred accordingly.
Note that we are unable to supply additional equipment which may be compulsory for driving abroad (e.g. breathalysers, warning triangles, emergency first aid kits, etc.) and that this is the responsibility of the driver. As such, customers are required to know all the requirements in force in their destination and in all the countries and regions they are likely to cross. The list of these requirements is available on websites such as the AA, www.theaa.com.
